Mark Williams Architects were employed by a growing family to provide alterations and additions to a house in Wishart. The project required a full internal and external renovation to convert a dated dwelling into a contemporary architectural house. Working directly with the client and their particular needs was essential in creating spaces that were both functional and suited their lifestyle.

 

This renovation involved significant internal structural changes, a new double-height space at the rear with expansive foldaway glass doors and windows to increase a sense of volume and natural light to the living areas. This created the opportunity to combine an outdoor entertainment space with kitchen and dining areas for large functions by the pool. For the interiors, clean, natural materials and finishes were selected from a warm and minimal palette to furnish the living spaces and bathrooms.

Stage 2 of the project will involve a re-work of the landscaped areas to create a more fitting and useable space for the family.
